![]() They think that console development means that there's always some sort of magic that can happen behind the scenes to make games run better than they would on equivalent PC hardware. Most people don't seem to understand this. Tl dr : Games already use the PS5’s full power, they just aren’t optimized well on PC and next gen. You could technically get more out of it, just like you could get more out of a similar PC, the game’s code itself has to be optimized instead of hardware specific optimizations like for the PS3. The only difference between a PC And a PS5 being memory management (PS5 has shared gddr6 memory, which allows for faster communication between GPU and cpu). ![]() As you see, even in a PC environment, when at equivalent settings, the results on PS5 and PC are the same with both chips being the same.īasically, the value of the PS5’s hardware on paper is about 700 to 800 bucks. ![]() Here’s the PS5’s GPU with the same lower clocks as the PS5 has. Most of the time, when devs see a powerful console they won’t spend a lot of time optimizing the game as the machine will just brute force through it, when you have a PS4, you have to spend months optimizing the game. Games always max out the hardware, unlike the PS3 which had way more power than other machines but a huge cost in development. It uses the exact same chip as the RX 6700, with lower clocks and zen 2 cpu (which isn’t very powerful…). ![]() The PS5, unlike the PS3, is just a PC with a different OS. It’s not that games aren’t taking full advantage of the PS5’s power. ![]()
